🐧

❄️
So what's included?
Math - 40 unique story problems through 4 Antarctic animal friends that help your students visualize abstract arithmetic problems. One is Hopper the Emperor Penguin!
Geography & ELA - 18 page geography mystery about the polar climate. Students get "dropped off" in a mysterious location. Through reading, geography, and problem-solving skills, they decipher their location and solve the mystery with a 3D habitat project!
Science - 18 pages all about how emperor penguins survive within their colony. Kids construct a 3D habitat and act out scenarios, testing to see if their survival solutions work.
Art - 20 pages over 2 art resources. The Mini Art Journal teaches kids to sketch emperor penguins, journal about them through research, and how to use the element of line in artwork.
TOTAL - 92 pages, 5 products, 3 hands-on projects, and unique emperor penguin activities you won't find anywhere else!
🐧
How to use:
This unit study is designed to boost your classroom this winter. Teach your normal curriculum, but swap in these projects/worksheets when the topics line up. You can do this for over a month. Incorporate your favorite penguin books for extra ELA!
Want to fast track this themed-unit? Set aside the curriculum for Penguin Week. Work through each project and worksheet, starting with the Penguin Party: Animal Groups Project. Your students will love the break from routine! We did a Penguin Week in my classroom and the "January Blues" were nowhere in sight! It boosted my students' (and my) morale sooooo much during this chilly season.
Homeschoolers! These projects/worksheets are perfect for a unit study for the whole family. Each can be adapted to ages 2nd-6th grade. Try it out with all your elementary-aged kids!
❄️
NOTE: This bundle has almost identical resources to my Antarctica STEAM Unit. The difference is that the Geography Mystery is swapped for an engineering project in the STEAM unit.
🐧
Happy Winter!
