โSo what weather factors make a hailstorm?โ
This question didnโt come from one of my students. It actually came from a child playing in the park who I didnโt know!
One of my third grade online students would take his online class to a local park. The outdoor environment and lots of space to move made it the perfect place for his neurodiverse brain to learn well.
While we were learning all about weather patterns and types, a couple of kids became interested! They stopped playing and popped over to see what this teacher was all about. THEY ENDED UP STAYING FOR THE WHOLE 45 MINUTE CLASS!
So when one of these kids asked the question above, I had to answer!
Thatโs the magic of art-inspired, project-based learning. It is interesting to children naturally, even when thereโs a whole playground to play on instead.
