A coloring activity sheet with a leaf divided into two halves. The left half shows a real leaf, and the right half is painted to resemble a holly leaf with a yellow circle on it. The instructions guide to paint, fold, and uncover the leaf to find its shape.
A leaf and a small plant placed on a leaf identification activity sheet, with a small gardening rake and a leaf-shaped tool in the background.

🎨 One whole month of art--done for you!

This course is ideal for 3rd-7th graders.

πŸƒ We'll dive deep into the traditional element of shape, and then mix it with a plant topic--shapes of leaves.

🍁 In this Mini Course, your learner will learn all about plants through art. Using easy-to-access materials, learners create drawings and projects that reflect the plant-topic of the week.

{Class Schedule}

Week 1: Two videos/projects teaching your child about the element of line, how to spot it, and how to draw with it.

Week 2: Two videos/projects discovering monocots, dicots, and conifers all around us in nature--while also learning to sketch with basic lines.

Week 3: Scavenger hunt video where your child can go outside (or visit a local grocery store if it's too cold out) and gather monocots, dicots, and conifers for the final project. The 2nd video combines everything your student has learned into one final project.

Week 4: Catch up and upload week! Because there are 2 videos/projects per week, your child may not stay "on schedule." I want this to be student-directed, so that's okay! I give you this last week to finish up any projects, post into the group, or make up your own!

{Changing the schedule}

Does this schedule not align with your homeschool? No worries! Save the links you receive each week and spread them out over a whole year of school.

This class is $14 a week for two 5-10 minute lessons, 2 drawings/projects, and group feedback from the teacher. I offer sibling discounts (50% each additional learner, so please ask!). This is a total of $42 for 3 weeks, plus a free week for catch-up work.

{How it works}

In this class, you get 2 video art lessons per week. That totals to 5 ART VIDEO LESSONS and 1 NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT!

I've set up this mini-course to be done within 3 weeks. However, there is SO much content in here that it could easily be spread out into 1-2 months.

{Feedback from me}

I want to know all of my students! That's why I've linked an Outschool group to this class for free. Inside the first lesson, you'll be receiving a promo code for a spot on my Nature Art Group. That will allow you to talk to me, ask questions, and get feedback. It is also a safe, fun place for your learners to interact with other kids and share their art!

{Extra info}

-Five and six year-olds are allowed to take this class. However, if your learner does not have a strong drawing hand yet, I would encourage you to be ready to assist or to pair them with an older sibling.

-Optional: You can place all the finished drawings and projects into a 3-ring binder (I did!). They're all vertical so it works nicely. This also creates a great resource for future reference.

Want more? This is a full nature art course that can be sped-up to fit one semester, or stretched to fit a full year of art.
