How to Draw a Penguin 🐧

STEP-BY-STEP HOW TO DRAW AN EMPEROR PENGUIN
Head and Beak
Start with a semi-circle in the top-middle of your drawing space. Add a thin triangle for the beak. Draw a curve sliding down on the left.
Remember: Real penguins aren’t perfectly geometric! Let your shapes be a little “imperfect” to make your penguin look realistic.
2. Face Detail
Draw an imperfect oval shape inside the beak. Draw a thin line for a slight smile. Add a blobby, bean-shaped patch on the neck.
These details may seem odd, but they’re crucial to making your emperor penguin.
3. Eye and Wing
At the end of the smile and on top of the neck patch, draw a circle. Color in a dark circle inside for the pupil. Erase away a small spot of the pupil for an added highlight. If you’re using marker, you can paint/marker a white spot on top.
Draw a leaf-shaped wing. Start at the neck patch and end in a point. The length of the wing is almost the height of your penguin.
4. Belly and Tail
Draw a long curved line going down from the beak. This line should end slightly below the wing.
Draw a short curved line under the wing. Add an imperfect straight line connecting the tail and wing.
5. Foot
Start a little above the bottom of the belly. Draw a curved line going down. Add a zig-zag line connecting the curved line to the belly.
You should end with 3 toes/claws.
6. Color!
Add orange to the oval on the beak and yellow to the neck patch.
Color in the head, wing, and foot with a charcoal black (almost black, but slightly grey).
Color the belly a creamy white.
